OLD METHOD:

Step 1: Download the Latest IDM from Here or If you already have IDM installed Update it by going to Help then to check for Updates.If you don't wanna update your version, Just click on Registration.

Step2: After you click on registration, Now a new dialog window will appear that is asking for FirsName, Last Name, Email Address and Serial Number.

Step3: Now Enter you name, last name, email address and in field of Serial Key enter any of the following Keys:

Step4: After you click ok, it will show an error message that you have registered IDM using fake serial key and IDM will exit. Now here the hack starts.

Step5: Now Go to C:/ then Windows the System32 then Drivers and then etc.

Note : For Windows 7 users, due to security reasons you will not be able to save hosts file.

so follow this steps :

First of all go to C:/ drive then go to Windows Folder and then go to System32 folder and then go to Drivers folder and then go to Etc Folder, in the Etc folder you will see the hosts file.

Step6 (windows 7 or vista): Now right click on hosts file and go to its properties, then go to security tab and then select your admin account, just below u will see an edit button (in front of change permissions), Now give the user full control and write and read rights and then click on apply and then click on Ok, now u will be able to edit the hosts file and save changes in it.

Open with Notepad

Now copy the below lines of code and add to hosts file as shown above image box :

Here is the way to disable pop up fake serial number idm

• First of all, Go to run and Type "regedit"
• Then Click on HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > DownloadManager >
• Find "CheckUpdtVM" and Change its value data to 0

It should work. But still if you face such problem,

• Go to Start>>Run
• Type Regedit
• Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > DownloadManager >
• Delete Folder "Download Manager"
• Exit IDM from the taskbar.
•  Restart your PC
• Go to directory C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\
• Open the "hosts" file in the "notepad".
• On the last line enter below line words.

• "127.0.0.1 www.internetdownloadmanager.com"

Now download IDM Patcher and patch IDMan.exe in C:\Program Files\Internet Download Manger.

Or after After deleting folder from registry editor, uninstall the program, restart your PC and re-install it.

That's it!!!

Note: Never update your idm again. Unless until It will work 100%

##3RD:  HOW TO RESUME EXPIRED OR FAILED DOWNLOADS WITH IDM

IF ANY ERROR OCCUR IN DOWNLOADING, USE FOLLOWING METHOD TO RESUME IT:

1) FIRST OF ALL CLICK ON "NO".

2) THEN GO TO THE REFERER LINK FROM WHERE YOU START TO DOWNLOAD,

     IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE REFERER LINK RIGHT CLICK ON FILE GO TO

     PROPERTIES AND COPY THE REFERER LINK PASTE ON ADDRESS BAR OF

     YOUR BROWSER AND PRESS ENTER

3) AND CLICK ON DOWNLOAD

4) THE IDM POP-UP WILL APPEAR COPY THE URL ADDRESS AND CLOSE IT

5) GO TO EXPIRED FILE PROPERTIES AND AND PATE URL IN "ADDRESS" AND CLICK OK

6) NOW CLICK ON RESUME AND ENJOY!

TIP#2)HOW TO DOWNLOAD MKV FILES WITH IDM:

Step 1: open IDM go to Options > File types

Step 2:

then in the (Automatically start downloading the following file types:) box type in space MKV in capital laters like this:  MKV

and click OK

thats it now you can download mkv files with IDM enjoy!
